Gear for Good ATL is a youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2025 by Andrew Moran, a Mount Vernon School student-athlete who watched talented players show up to games with cracked cleats and torn gloves. Every young athlete deserves equipment that matches their drive. We collect, restore, and distribute sporting equipment to youth programs across Atlanta — free of charge.
I kept seeing athletes with real skill — kids who could hit, who could field — but their equipment was falling apart. If a player has the talent but not the gear, the system has failed them. That's where Gear for Good started.

We organize drives to collect gently used baseball equipment, bats, gloves, cleats, and outwear from schools, families, and partners.

Our youth board inspects every donation, sorts by size and condition, and ensures each item is game-ready before distribution.

We coordinate with schools, coaches, and community organizations to identify the athletes and programs with the greatest need.

Equipment goes directly to the athletes - on the field, at the school, or through partner program deliveries - at no cost to families.
Much of my life is spent looking at the world through a cage. A catcher's job is to see everything — and act.

In partnership with Field of Dreams Academy, led by Terry Johnson, Gear for Good has equipped school teams, donated winter coats, and served families across Metro Atlanta. This partnership is just beginning.
FODA is so grateful for our partnership and the impact we have made in the community. At the end of our season, players came up to thank us specifically for the cleats from Gear for Good. One parent told me she couldn't afford cleats for her son — and that he came home so excited, she cried with joy.

Have baseball gear, cleats, bats, or gloves sitting unused? Donate them to an athlete who will put them to work. We accept all sizes and skill levels.
Bring Gear for Good to your school, team, or organization. We'll coordinate a full equipment drive - you provide the community, we provide the logistics.
We're always looking for schools, youth programs, and organizations looking to give or receive. If you know athletes in need, reach out - we want to help.
Follow our story on social media, share our mission with families and coaches, and help us reach more athletes who need a fair shot at the sport they love.
